Mercy, Mercy D.
This series is an array of photographic work, films, and installation. The body of work was created to give viewers an inside look on death, family issues, spousal abuse and depression. My photographic work is a recreation of my great-aunt’s legacy and downfall. For the pass two years I’ve been collecting her belongings, photographs and stories; and been recreating through pictures. In the photographs I’m wearing her clothes, wigs, shoes, and going to the places she use to take me as a child. This might seem morbid to some. Wearing your dead relatives clothing, but it’s a way for me to have closure with her.
